Work At Hand Archived in WV History Collection

Hello All, We are very honored to announce that the documentary film, Work at Hand, Michael K. Paxton, is in the process of being archived into the West Virginia & Regional History Center, WVU, Morgantown. A huge thank you to Ms. Lori Hostuttler, Director for not only spearheading this inclusion, but also requesting all of Michael’s exhibition show cards, catalogs and reviews/features so that can be included in the archives. It will take some time for the film to be ready to view but until then here is Michael crossing a a swinging bridge over the Elk River in Clay, County WV.

Screening and Artist Talk in Virginia

Work at Hand will be screened April 25, 2019 at the the event After Dark Film and Artist Talk presented by the Peninsula Fine Art Center (Pfac) in Newport News, Virginia. After the screening an Artist Talk will be presented by Michael K. Paxton. This event was organized by Lee Matney of the Linda Matney Gallery and Diana Blanchard, Curator of the Art Center.

Film Screening in Hollywood March 29th

On March 29th a screening of the documentary film "Work At Hand, Michael K. Paxton" will be presented at Chaplin Theater at Raleigh Studios 5300 Melrose Avenue Los Angeles, CA. Doors open at 7:00pm, Screening 7:30, following the screening there will be a Q&A with the filmmaker Peter Hartel and artist Michael K. Paxton.

Visiting Artist and Film Screening

Michael K. Paxton was a Visiting Artist for the day with both a screening of "Work at Hand” and also meeting with the painting students at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Monday February 25, 2019. A big Thanks to Robert Drea for setting this all up and Chris Cosnowski and his class.

Chicago Premiere at Chicago Filmmakers

The Chicago premiere of the documentary film "Work At Hand" will be presented by Chicago Filmmakers in two free screenings on Saturday October 20, 2018 at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM at 5720 North Ridge Avenue, Chicago, IL. Both screenings are free and open to the public.

Work at Hand Screened at Heuser Art Center

In addition to Michael’s one-person exhibition “Pillars of Dust” and his Visiting Artist stay, Work at Hand” was screened at the Heuser Art Center of Bradley University, Peoria, IL on September 28th as a prelude to the opening of his exhibition.

Official Selection Great Lakes International Film Festival

We are are very pleased that Work at Hand is an Official Selection to the 17th Annual Great Lakes International Film Festival 2018 announced yesterday, September 8, 2018.
